Opsealog signed an agreement with the Ecole Nationale Supérieure Maritime, ESNM, during the “Forum des Enterprises” held in le Havre on the 12th and 13th of October 2021. The event was the perfect opportunity for the Opsealog team to talk to the future generation of french mariners and show how data is shaping the maritime and creating jobs in the industry. The partnership signature is the start of a collaboration that will enable both parties to invest in the career development of those young future seafarers.
Opsealog’s Founder and Managing Director, Arnaud Dianoux, former Captain onboard Offshore Support Vessels, is an alumnus of ENSM Marseille. The solid maritime background, core competencies in maritime data analytics, and the marine spirit within Opsealog influence the company’s corporate culture. It drives the wish to invest in the young generations of seafarers, showing them how technology is shaping their career paths in the maritime.
“Signing this strategic partnership with ENSM is very important for us since the merchant marine is part of Opsealog’s DNA. For us, such an agreement is the result of a real desire to support student job research and achievement of their professional goals, and to bring innovation, technology, and decarbonization as key concerns for the future seafarers’ generation…” ARNAUD DIANOUX, managing director at Opsealog.
The agreement encompasses three main pillars:
– Research and development of transversal projects
– Training and conferences
– Recruitment campaigns and communication support
The partnership engages Opsealog and ENSM to implement several actions, including career development projects, research and development collaborations, training sessions, and conferences and giving opportunities for young seafarers to take part in innovative projects and internships.
In an ever-changing industry, with complex challenges ahead, including optimization, and decarbonization, it’s of utmost importance to train future professionals to prepare them for these challenges.
